Gopa Roy
I was born and raised in Tripura. My primary influence is the local landscape, the harmonisation of multicultural identities and our native crafts. Being far away from home, the process brings back memories of my village, paddy fields, playground, school days and day-to-day activities. I use the metaphor of connections through maps and roads, and prefer organic materials as a medium to express the form of the landscape. The rhythm of lines is a curious journey of life that leads me back home.
